Naming your Assignment File
  • Save and upload your files in this way: <firstname lastname - course code - assignment title.doc>
    • Tip: save all your work to the homedrive on the network and email yourself a copy. Use googledocs to keep yourself organized and your work backed up online.
    • Keep a folder called Gr. X English, where X is your current grade
  • When submitting work to turnitin, be sure to have your work double spaced to facilitate editing (by teacher or peers). Be sure to read the assignment folder instructions carefully. You may need to submit the assignment with your name removed to allow for anonymous peer review.

How to Devise a Good Title (bit.ly/mrgotitle)

  • Your title should reflect the main gist (idea) of your entire piece, the essence of the work. Always compose the title after you have finished the body of the writing piece
  • The best titles begin with a creative phrase, followed by a more academic sounding component (e.g., "Raising the Bar: an investigation of impossible standards in high-jumping")
  • See this link for more ideas and strategies

Homework - Proof of Completion

Proof of Completed Homework
- When absent for a class where homework is to be checked, email Mr. Go photos of your completed, handwritten homework. The preferred attachment is in pdf form, but photos (e.g., jpg, png) are acceptable. To get around extremely large files, create a folder inside google drive and email a copy of the link to that folder (click here for help, or google "how to share a link to a Google Drive folder").
